Impact Now is dedicated to helping global citizens like yourself more easily make a difference around the corner or around the world.
All too often we hear stories of poverty, devastation and destruction in the world and feel powerless to help out. We fear donating money to large charities because we don’t believe it will actually make it to those in need… we aren’t sure where we can go to effectively donate our time… and we wish we could do more.
Impact Now is your hub for what’s happening in the world, on both global and local levels, and gives you the power to help out immediately in the best way you can.
One of the most important elements of giving back to our community are the stories of the impact we make. Not only do they show how vital our time and resources are to those in need, they also inspire others to give back, as well.
Impact Now is dedicated to facilitating storytelling so when you help out, the world finds out. We leverage technology so our community and the charities we serve have a vehicle to share stories of triumph and widen our range of impact.
From the Founder
I’m AJ Fusco, the founder of Impact Now, which was born of a passion to enrich our communities by giving back and showing others how to do the same. You see, helping others truly has helped me like nothing else; it gives me the connection to the world I’ve been desperately seeking.
A few years ago, a series of incidents in my life sent me directly to rock bottom. I lost everything that mattered to me, and felt completely and utterly worthless. Although the road to putting my life back together has been a challenging one, the one thing that helped me tremendously through the process is giving my time and energy to others.
I remember when I was feeling particularly down, I would volunteer to feed the homeless in NYC. That simple act left me feeling like a million dollars. I forgot about my hardship and I felt whole. Helping others ultimately helped me get out of my own head. I wasn’t even serving in a soup kitchen where you meet the homeless people face-to-face. I was in the facility where we prepared the food and then shipped it out.
Yet, I felt strength and purpose in making a difference. I met like-minded people and made new friends. I felt connected to a greater good. This experience taught me how important giving back truly is. Not just for the people who need our help, but for us, too.
That’s when I reached out to a few colleagues to talk about how we can help others do the same. Because, unfortunately, it’s hard to help out if you don’t know where to look. And when people don’t have easy ways to volunteer, they don’t take action. Or, they give money to monolithic causes but never see any of the change.
Impact Now is the result of 2 years of brainstorming how we can make an immediate difference and help others do the same. We wanted to not only share the major problems plaguing our world, but also shine a light on the crises happening all over that aren’t as easily found. We aim to connect concerned citizens to those events and help them quickly engage and take action – whether it be through a donation, volunteering or starting a fundraiser. We want you to have plenty of options so you can help in the best way for you.
Beyond that we wanted to encourage and facilitate storytelling, so charitable organizations and helpful community members alike could show the kind of impact reaching out and helping makes. Ideally, inspiring a whole new wave of citizens to do the same.
